Our projects are carefully selected based on our own personal experience with the initiatives and ideas behind them.
At the moment we are primarily supporting the Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT), an international humanitarian organization made up of decidated people working without personal salaries. AMURT and their sister-organization AMURTEL (dedicated to empowering women) have teams in thirty-four countries, including Haiti, India, Ghana, Thailand and Nicaragua. Since its inception in 1965, this has created a solid network which is prepared to meet complex emergencies in all corners of the world.
Seeking to empower local capacities, AMURT and AMURTEL have proven to have a deep understanding of working across cultures and religions. There are no ready-made solutions to problems of poverty, every situation is unique and requires its own local solution. Because our volunteers, partners and field directors are of multicultural origins and already based in the areas they serve, they are better able to promote a solution that is suitable for each particular set of circumstances.
